Terms of Service
Last updated: 9 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and SixCut ("SixCut", "we", "us"). They cover the SixCut website at sixcut.app, the SixCut app at app.sixcut.app and everything you make with them (together, "the service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Questions: [email protected].
1. What SixCut is
SixCut is an AI video editor. You give it an idea, a script, a voiceover or footage, and it researches, writes, voices and edits a video (vertical Shorts and long-form). It uses third-party AI and media services to do this, described in section 6.
2. Who sells to you: Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. When you buy a plan, you buy it from Paddle, under Paddle's buyer terms, and Paddle charges your card or PayPal, collects any sales tax or VAT, and issues your invoices. SixCut never sees or stores your card details.
3. Your account
- You need an account to use the app. Give a real email address you can read, and keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to buy a plan.
- One person per account. Don't share accounts or create accounts to get extra free trials.
4. Plans, payment and cancelling
- Free trial: a new account can make up to 3 videos within 7 days, using its own AI keys (see "Own keys" below). No card is needed for the trial.
- Paid plans are subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly. The current plans and prices are shown on the site and in the app before you pay. Waitlist members may get a lower "first-day supporter" price on monthly plans, shown at checkout.
- Own keys: the AI runs on your own Anthropic (and, for AI voiceovers, ElevenLabs) API keys. Those companies bill you directly for what you use, under their own terms. Our price covers the SixCut software only.
- All included and Studio: SixCut's own AI and voice services are included, paid for with AI credits (1 credit = 10 US cents of AI at our providers' prices; the app shows what each step used). Your plan's monthly credits refill on the 1st of each month; unused monthly credits don't carry over. When your credits run out, AI features pause until they refill, or until you buy a top-up.
- Credit top-ups are one-time purchases (not a subscription). Top-up credits are used after your monthly credits, last 12 months from purchase, and can only be used while you have All included or Studio. They have no cash value and can't be transferred.
- Studio adds Copy a style (SixCut studies a clip you upload, up to 60 seconds, and saves how it is edited as your own style) and Pro mode (an AI editor that works on your video with tools). Both use credits like any other AI feature.
- Switching plans: you can switch plan or billing period in the app. Paddle charges or credits the difference for the rest of the current period, and shows you the amount before you confirm.
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. Paddle charges the payment method you used.
- Cancelling: you can cancel any time from the app (Account → Manage or cancel your subscription). Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for, then stops. We don't charge cancellation fees.
- Refunds: see our Refund Policy.
- Price changes: if we change the price of your plan, we'll tell you by email at least 14 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
5. What you make, and what you may not do
Your content is yours. You keep all rights to what you upload (ideas, scripts, voice recordings, footage) and, as between you and us, to the videos SixCut makes for you. You give us permission to store and process your content only to run the service for you: to make, edit, re-edit and store your videos and show them to you.
You are responsible for your content and for what you publish. Don't use SixCut to make or publish anything that:
- is illegal, or breaks the rules of the platform you post it on;
- infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights, including footage, music or logos you don't have permission to use;
- impersonates a real person, or puts words in a real person's mouth (for example a cloned or imitated voice) without their permission;
- is sexual content involving minors, sexual content of real people without consent, or content that harasses, threatens or promotes violence or hatred against people;
- is deliberately false or misleading in a way that could harm people (scams, fake news presented as real, election misinformation);
- is spam, or abuses the service, its servers or other users (for example trying to access other people's projects, overloading the service, or reselling access).
Copy a style learns how a video is edited (its pacing, captions, fonts, colours and graphic layouts); it never reuses the reference video's footage. Only upload clips you're allowed to use for this, and don't use a copied style to reproduce someone else's logo, channel name, characters or branding, or to pass your videos off as theirs.
Where a platform asks you to label realistic AI-generated or altered content, label it. SixCut adds an "AI RECREATION" label to footage it knows is AI-generated, but you remain responsible for labelling what you publish.
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules. If it's serious or repeated, we may close the account; if you have a paid plan, we'll tell you why.
6. Third-party services
SixCut works with other companies' services: Anthropic (AI), ElevenLabs (AI voices), Pexels (stock footage), Wikimedia Commons (images), Cloudflare (website and network) and our server host. When you use a feature, what it needs (for example your script or a search phrase) is sent to the service that does that job. Stock footage and images come with their own licences; SixCut uses free-to-use sources, but some licences ask for credit, and SixCut lists sources in the publish pack where they do.
7. AI makes mistakes
AI research, scripts, captions and voiceovers can be wrong, out of date or incomplete, even when SixCut checks sources. Watch and check every video before you publish it, especially facts, names and numbers. Don't rely on SixCut for legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
8. Availability
SixCut is a new service run by one person. We work to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available, fast or free of bugs, and rendering may take longer when many people use it at once. We may change or remove features. Keep your own copies of finished videos: download them when they're done. Projects that use too much space may need to be cleaned up; we'll warn you in the app first.
9. Closing your account
You can stop using SixCut any time and ask us to delete your account and data by writing to [email protected]. Cancel any paid plan first. We may close accounts that break these terms (section 5).
10. Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits, lost views or channel strikes), and our total liability to you for anything related to the service is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it applies. If you keep using SixCut after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, cancel and stop using the service.
12. Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms takes away any protection you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live.
